Crude oil is primarily categorized into two main types: West Texas
Intermediate (WTI) and Brent crude oil. FTMO offers two spot transactions
for crude oil: West Texas Intermediate (WTI-NYMEX) and Brent Crude Oil
(BRENT-IPE).
West Texas Intermediate (WTI-NYMEX)
•
WTI serves as the benchmark for all crude oil produced in the United States
or imported into the country. The futures contract for WTI exhibits strong
liquidity and exceptional price transparency, making it one of the three
primary benchmarks in the global crude oil market.
Brent Crude Oil (BRENT-IPE)
•
Brent crude is central to the current global pricing system for crude oil
and is recognized as a highly adaptable tool for risk management and
transaction facilitation. Approximately 70% of international crude oil trade
utilizes prices generated within the Brent market system as a pricing
benchmark, either directly or indirectly.
